Lewes To Rodmell along the Sussex Ouse

The weather being lovely we decided to walk from Lewes to the Abergavenny Arms in Rodmell and back.  Well that is what we did, what we intended to do was walk on to Southease but fortunately for us we changed our plans after lunch, as the wonder which is Southern Rail cancelled the train we would have returned on.

The marina area of Lewes is not very large and as you walk beyond it the more unusual end of the river craft is “stored.

Once out into the countryside the heat increased and felt like it was being reflected off the grass.

A bird of prey (did not have the right lens to tell what) hovered over us and a number of propeller driven aeroplanes circled.

We arrived before the pub opened so spent a half hour reading in the churchyard.
