Some of my favourite images have been silhouettes, occasionally intentional, but also accidental when a bright cloudy day washes out the picture I intend to take, replacing it with something different.

The image above was taken on Brighton sea front on just such a bright cloudy day, the contrast adjusted to make the seagull book-end and the people of the beach into silhouettes.

The image below was taken on Hollingbury Park (Brighton) I had been followed by crows (or possibly Ravens) for most of the morning so waited for two to perch conveniently.  Very little adjustment was needed as I was taking the picture straight into the sun.
